Add-ons for AI coding tools

yomiyasu

A skill for AI assistants that rewrites stiff, AI-generated Japanese text into clear, natural Japanese.

What it does

yomiyasu is a "skill", a set of instructions you load into AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. It edits Japanese text written by AI, fixing odd metaphors, unclear sentence subjects and unnecessary decoration like heavy bold text, so the writing is easier to read.

It is designed mainly for practical writing: technical articles, design and specification documents, pull request descriptions and internal reports. It follows seven rules, such as keeping the original meaning, not adding facts that weren't there, and adjusting sentence length and punctuation.

When something in the original can't be understood for sure, it leaves that part as it is and lists it as a question for the writer. Shorter versions, yomiyasu-mini and yomiyasu-pocket, are offered separately for tools that can't load the full skill.

Who it's for

People who write Japanese documents or articles with help from AI and want the result to read naturally. It works inside AI coding assistants and Claude's web app.

Can I use it without coding?

With some setup. You install it into an AI tool with a short command or by uploading a ZIP file to Claude, then ask the AI to use it. New to this? Start here.

Can I run it?

Cost
Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
Runs on
Web browser, Mac, Windows, Linux
Computer
An ordinary computer is fine
Privacy
Sends what you give it to an online service

Try it

  1. Download the ready-made yomiyasu.zip file from the project's latest release page.
  2. Upload the ZIP, without unzipping it, to Claude's custom skill settings (or install it into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor using the README's install options).
  3. Paste your draft and ask the AI: "Make this easier to read with yomiyasu."
