What it does
Upscayl makes low-resolution images bigger and clearer. AI models guess what the missing detail should look like, so an enlarged photo looks less blurry and blocky than with ordinary resizing.
It is a regular desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, and can process many images at once. Extra models can be added for different styles of image.
Its makers note it works best on low-resolution or pixelated images; it can't fix photos that are out of focus. It needs a graphics card that supports Vulkan, and most built-in laptop graphics won't work.
Who it's for
Photographers, designers and anyone who wants to improve old or small pictures.
