What it does
Transformers, from Hugging Face, is a library: a toolbox that programmers use inside their own software. It gives one consistent way to download and use thousands of open AI models for text, images, audio and more.
If you've used an app that runs an open model, there's a good chance Transformers was involved somewhere along the way.
You won't use it directly unless you write code, but it's one of the foundations of the open AI ecosystem.
Who it's for
Developers, data scientists and researchers.
