What it does
Trail-code is an add-on for AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. It builds a map of a codebase, showing every function and what calls it, so the assistant can find the right files quickly.
It also saves 'learnings', notes about decisions and lessons from past sessions, so the next session or a teammate can pick up where others left off. It can warn when a change goes against an earlier team decision.
Its makers report that in their tests agents used fewer steps, less time and less money. They say both parts run on your machine, and the code map needs no AI model or key.
