What it does
TestSprite CLI is the official command-line tool for TestSprite, an online AI testing service. A command-line tool is a program you type commands into rather than click. It opens your live app, uses it the way a person would, and reports what failed.
It is built to work with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Windsurf, Copilot and Codex. A setup step teaches the assistant how to create tests, run them, read the failure report, fix its own code and run the test again. You describe each test in plain language, such as "submit the login form with an empty password and check for an error."
The tests run in TestSprite's cloud. It can also reach an app running on your own computer through a secure connection called a tunnel. It can suggest tests for you to review. The README says this uses account credits, and it mentions a Free plan.
Who it's for
Software developers who use AI coding assistants and want those assistants to check their own work automatically.
