What it does
Tesseract.js brings the Tesseract text-recognition engine to JavaScript, so websites and apps can pull words out of images in many languages without sending them to a server.
It works in web browsers and in Node.js, a way of running JavaScript outside the browser. Its makers note it does not read PDF files and does not change Tesseract's accuracy.
Who it's for
Web developers who want to add text recognition to their sites or apps.
