What it does
Terax is a desktop app for programmers that puts a terminal, a code editor, a file browser, Git tools and a web preview in one window. Its makers say it takes up only a few megabytes, has no telemetry and needs no account.
Its AI side panel can plan work, read and edit files, and run commands after you approve them. It can also suggest code as you type and launch Claude Code in a terminal.
You bring your own key for providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini, or point it at a local model through Ollama or LM Studio.
Who it's for
Programmers who want a lightweight, terminal-centred workspace with built-in AI help.
