What it does
TensorFlow is a platform for machine learning, the branch of AI where computers learn patterns from examples instead of following hand-written rules. It gives programmers the tools to build AI models, teach them with data, and put them to work inside apps.
It was first built by researchers at Google Brain. Programmers mainly use it from Python or C++, and it can use a graphics card (GPU) to speed up the heavy math involved.
Its makers describe it as a whole ecosystem, with tutorials, ready-made models and extra libraries alongside the core software.
Who it's for
Programmers, data scientists and researchers who build or study AI models.
