Add-ons for AI coding tools

Talk to Figma MCP

Connects AI agents like Cursor and Claude Code to Figma so they can read and change your designs.

New this week

What it does

This project links AI coding agents to Figma, the design tool, through MCP (Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI to use outside tools). A Figma plugin and a small connection server carry messages between them.

The AI can read your document and selection, create shapes, frames and text, change content in bulk, add notes, and copy settings across many component copies.

Its makers say this cuts down on repetitive design work.

Who it's for

Designers and developers who want an AI agent to inspect or edit Figma files for them.

Can I use it without coding?

With some setup. You install a helper tool, run a setup command and add a Figma plugin. New to this? Start here.

Can I run it?

Cost
Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
Computer
An ordinary computer is fine
API key
Not needed

Try it

  1. Install the Bun tool and run the project's setup, which adds it to Cursor.
  2. Start its connection server and install the Figma plugin from the Figma community page.
  3. In Figma, run the plugin and join a channel, then ask your AI agent to read or change the design.

Using Claude Code, Cursor or another AI coding assistant? Paste the prompt and it will walk you through the setup.New to this?
