Add-ons for AI coding tools

Spec Kit

Gives AI coding assistants step-by-step processes, such as writing a plan before building a feature.

What it does

Spec Kit is a toolkit that gives AI coding assistants a structured way to work. Instead of jumping straight into code, the assistant follows a set process with templates and recorded results.

Its main process is "spec-driven development": you describe what you want in a written specification, and the assistant carries it through planning and building. Add-ons cover fixing bugs and judging whether an idea is worth pursuing.

Teams can adjust the processes, add their own steps and rules, or share setups through catalogs. It works with GitHub Copilot and other supported coding assistants.

Who it's for

Software developers and teams who want AI coding assistants to work in a more planned, repeatable way.

Can I use it without coding?

  2. Use the Spec Kit tool to create a new project for your assistant.
  3. Open your assistant in that project and run the Spec Kit skills one at a time.
