What it does

Qwen Audio Agent adds a real-time voice to AI agents, which are programs that can carry out tasks for you. You speak, it answers right away, and you can interrupt it like in a normal conversation.

When a request needs more work, such as looking something up or running a tool, it hands the job to a separate 'backend' agent. The conversation keeps going while the task runs. You can ask about progress or cancel, and the result comes back into the chat when it is done.

You can choose from several voice services, both online and local, and connect it to coding agents such as Qwen Code, OpenCode, Codex or Claude Code. It works in a web page, in the terminal, or as a floating desktop 'orb', and it can remember things about you across sessions.

Who it's for

People who want to talk to an AI assistant by voice while it handles longer tasks. Setting it up is easiest for those comfortable with API keys and configuration files.

Try it

  1. Download the desktop installer for your computer from the project's releases page.
  2. Get an API key from a supported voice service, such as Alibaba's Bailian, and add it to the app's settings.
  3. Start the app and begin talking to the floating voice orb.
