What it does
Pyro is a code library for probabilistic programming, a way of building models that deal with chance and uncertainty rather than giving a single fixed answer.
It is built on PyTorch, a popular AI framework, and its makers say it can represent any probability model while scaling to large datasets. It offers simple building blocks for experts who want fine control.
Pyro was first developed at Uber AI and is now maintained by community contributors, including a team at the Broad Institute. It is a Linux Foundation project.
Who it's for
Researchers and data scientists who build statistical and probabilistic AI models in Python.
