What it does
Postgres is a widely used database. ParadeDB is an add-on that lets it do full-text search (like a search engine) and vector search (searching by meaning, often used in AI apps) without a separate search system.
It also adds hybrid search that mixes both, plus filters and fast number-crunching over large data. Everything is done with standard SQL, the usual database language.
The open-source version can be self-hosted, and the makers also offer a managed cloud service.
Who it's for
Developers and database teams adding search to their apps, including AI-powered search.
