What it does
OpenWhispr turns your voice into text on your computer. Press a hotkey, talk, and the text is pasted where your cursor is, in any app. It can also translate as you dictate.
You can choose private, offline transcription with speech models that run on your own computer, or use cloud services with your own keys. It also records and transcribes meetings, labels who is speaking, and keeps searchable notes.
A built-in voice assistant can send what you say to AI models such as GPT, Claude or Gemini, or to local models.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants to type by voice, plus people who want meeting transcripts and notes.
