What it does
OpenMontage is a toolkit that lets an AI coding assistant, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, produce finished videos. You describe what you want in everyday language, and the assistant handles research, the script, pictures and clips, narration, music, subtitles and the final edit.
You can also start from a video you like, such as a YouTube Short or a local clip. It studies the pacing and style, then suggests a few ideas, a cost estimate and a sample before making the full video. It can use free stock footage and open archives, or paid AI video and voice services.
A local "storyboard" page shows each stage as it happens and pauses so you can approve the visuals before the final render.
Who it's for
Creators, marketers and hobbyists who already use an AI coding assistant and want to make videos with it.
