What it does
OpenCommit writes commit messages for programmers. A commit message is the short note that explains what changed each time code is saved in Git, a version-tracking tool.
You run it in your project and it reads your changes and suggests a clear message in about a second. Emojis, length and style can be adjusted.
It works with OpenAI and other AI providers, which need a paid API key, or with local models through Ollama or llama.cpp.
Who it's for
Programmers who use Git and want quicker, clearer commit messages.
Can I use it without coding?
