What it does
Open SWE is an AI agent for software teams. Given an issue or a request, it looks into the codebase, makes changes in a separate safe workspace called a sandbox, checks its work, and delivers the result as a pull request, a proposed change for people to review.
It can also review other people's pull requests, learn a project's review preferences, watch automated tests and respond to feedback. Work can be started from a dashboard, from GitHub, or from Slack.
Its makers, LangChain, say it is under active development and may change. They note that deploying it as-is needs access to a private beta of one of their managed services, so others may need to adapt the code.
Who it's for
Engineering teams who want an automated coding agent connected to GitHub and Slack.
