What it does
Open Dots is a self-hosted workspace for running coding-agent tasks. Today it works with the Claude Code tool, and you can send it tasks from a web page or from Telegram, a chat app.
Tasks run in throwaway sandboxes, and it asks for your approval before risky steps such as writing files, running commands or pushing code. You can connect GitHub, schedule repeating prompts and continue earlier conversations.
The README calls it an early prototype in active development. It supports Claude only, and there is an experimental desktop app.
Who it's for
Developers who want their own inspectable agent workspace instead of a paid agent product.
Can I use it without coding?
Developers only. It's set up from source code with Python, Node.js and usually Docker. New to this? Start here.
