What it does
OfficeCLI is a single program that AI agents can use to read, create and edit Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations. It doesn't need Office to be installed.
It can also turn those files into web pages or images, so the AI can "see" what it made and fix problems. When installed, it adds itself as a skill to AI coding tools it finds, such as Claude Code and Cursor.
For people who'd rather not use a terminal, its makers point to a separate desktop app, AionUi, that uses OfficeCLI behind the scenes.
Who it's for
People who use AI agents to produce reports, spreadsheets or slide decks.
