What it does
n8n is a popular tool for building automations, such as "when an email arrives, save the attachment and post a message in Slack". n8n-MCP is an MCP server, a standard connector for AI assistants, that gives tools like Claude, Cursor or VS Code detailed knowledge of n8n's thousands of building blocks and workflow templates.
With it, you can ask an AI assistant to design, build and check n8n workflows for you. It can also connect to your own n8n setup to manage workflows directly.
The README warns never to let AI edit important live workflows directly: make a copy, test first and keep backups. There is a hosted version with a free daily limit, or you can run it yourself.
