What it does
Microsandbox creates small virtual machines, separate mini-computers inside your computer, to run code you don't fully trust. Examples include AI agents, user-submitted code, plugins and automation.
Its makers say these sandboxes start in under a tenth of a second, can be copied or saved and restored, and keep secret keys from entering the sandbox. It runs standard container images like Docker does.
AI agents can create their own sandboxes through its agent skills and MCP server, a common way for AI tools to connect. The README says it is still beta software.
