AI memory

Memvid

Stores an AI agent's memory in a single portable file, without needing a database.

What it does

Memvid gives AI agents long-term memory. It packs your data and the indexes needed to search it into one file, so an agent can quickly look things up without running a separate database or server.

Its design borrows ideas from video compression: memory is saved as a sequence of unchangeable "frames", so you can rewind to see what the agent knew at an earlier point. It works offline and with any AI model.

Its makers publish benchmark results comparing it with other memory systems.
