What it does
MediaPipe is Google's toolkit for adding machine-learning features to apps that run directly on phones, computers, websites and small devices, without needing a server.
It offers ready-to-use solutions for vision, text and audio tasks, with pre-trained models. Developers can customize models with their own data and test them in a browser tool called MediaPipe Studio.
There is also a lower-level framework for building custom processing pipelines for live video and audio.
Who it's for
App developers who want to add on-device AI features like gesture or face tracking.
