What it does
MagenticLite is the next version of Magentic-UI, an experimental agent from Microsoft. It can work in a web browser and on files on your computer, for example researching online, filling in forms or organising folders.
Its makers say it is designed to work well with small AI models rather than the biggest ones. It keeps you in control: you can steer it, approve actions or take over, and it stops to ask before critical actions.
Browser sessions run in a small sandbox, a sealed-off virtual computer, so the agent cannot reach the rest of your machine without permission. You connect it to an AI model service you choose.
