What it does
Ludwig is a framework for building and training AI models. Instead of writing a long program, you describe what you want in a short configuration file: which model to start from, what your data looks like and what the model should produce.
It can fine-tune large language models, meaning adapt an existing model to your own examples, and can also build models for tables of data, images, time series and more.
Its makers describe it as low-code. It is hosted by the Linux Foundation's AI & Data group.
Who it's for
Data scientists and engineers who want to train custom models without writing a lot of training code.
Can I use it without coding?
Developers only. It is installed with Python and run from the command line; bigger models need a GPU. New to this? Start here.
