What it does
Loop Engineering is a library of patterns for setting up AI coding agents (like Claude Code, Codex or Grok) to work in repeating loops. A loop finds work in a code project, hands it to an agent, checks the result and saves its progress.
Patterns include daily triage of issues and test failures, watching pull requests (proposed code changes), updating dependencies and drafting changelogs. A small command-line tool sets up a pattern and estimates its cost.
Its author recommends starting with report-only loops for a week before letting them act alone, and warns that unattended loops can make unattended mistakes and run up AI costs.
Who it's for
Software developers and teams who already use AI coding agents and want to automate routine project upkeep.
Can I use it without coding?
Developers only. It's aimed at programmers and runs inside code projects and GitHub. New to this? Start here.
