What it does
Fine-tuning means taking an existing AI model and training it a little more so it gets better at your particular task or subject. LlamaFactory is a toolkit that does this for over 100 popular open models, including Llama, Qwen, DeepSeek, Gemma and Mistral.
It includes a web interface called LLaMA Board, so you can set up training without writing code. It supports many training methods, including memory-saving ones like LoRA and QLoRA that let you fine-tune large models on less powerful hardware.
Beyond text chat, it can train models for tasks like using tools, understanding images, video and audio. Once trained, models can be tried out in a chat window or served to other programs.
Who it's for
Researchers, developers and data teams who want to adapt open AI models to their own data.
Can I use it without coding?
With some setup. Needs installing with a few commands and usually a graphics card (GPU); after that the web interface needs no coding. Free cloud notebooks are also offered. New to this? Start here.
