What it does
Keras is a code library that helps programmers build and train "deep learning" models, the kind of AI that learns patterns from lots of examples. It can be used for things like recognising images, understanding text, processing audio and forecasting numbers over time.
It sits on top of other AI engines (TensorFlow, JAX or PyTorch) and lets you switch between them. Its makers say picking the fastest engine for your model can speed things up a lot, and that it scales from a laptop to large groups of computers.
Who it's for
Programmers, students and researchers who build their own AI models.
