What it does
Reader takes a web address and gives back a tidy text version of the page, without menus and clutter. This makes it easier for AI chatbots and agents to use what's on the page.
It can also search the web for a question, visit the top results, and return them as clean text. It handles PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and describes images using an AI vision model.
Jina AI runs it as a hosted service, which its makers say is free to use, with rate limits. This repository is the open-source version of the code behind that service.
