What it does

InternLM is a series of large language models, the kind of AI behind chatbots, released openly in several versions and sizes. The newest listed, InternLM3, is a mid-sized model aimed at general use and step-by-step reasoning.

Its makers say it performs strongly on reasoning and knowledge tasks while costing much less to train than similar models. It can switch between a "deep thinking" mode for hard problems and a normal mode for everyday chat.

Models can be downloaded from Hugging Face and similar sites. Some versions can handle very long documents, and there are related reward models used to train chatbots.
