What it does
When an AI coding assistant builds an app, it usually also needs a "back end": a database, user logins, file storage and a place to host the site. InsForge bundles these pieces in one platform that the assistant can operate directly.
Coding assistants connect to it through MCP (a standard way for AI tools to use outside services) or, on the cloud version, through a command-line tool with skills. The assistant can read the back end's setup and logs, and create tables, storage, logins and functions itself.
You can use the hosted cloud version or run it yourself with Docker (a tool for packaging and running software).
Who it's for
Developers who build apps with AI coding assistants and want them to handle the back end too.
Can I use it without coding?
Developers only. Self-hosting uses Docker and setup commands; it is meant to be used alongside a coding assistant. New to this? Start here.
