What it does
This is the material for Hugging Face's free Agents Course. It starts with what AI agents are (AI that can plan and take actions using tools) and how the language models behind them work.
Later units teach three popular frameworks for building agents, smolagents, LlamaIndex and LangGraph, plus how to monitor and evaluate agents and use them to search documents. The course ends with a final project that is scored against a benchmark, and bonus units include agents that play Pokémon games.

Learners with basic Python and some knowledge of AI language models who want to build agents.

Yes. The lessons are free to read online; the exercises need basic Python. New to this? Start here.
