What it does
Hindsight is a memory system for AI agents. Most AI tools forget everything when a conversation ends. Hindsight stores what an agent learns and brings back the relevant parts later.
Its makers say the goal is agents that learn over time, not just ones that recall old chat history. They report top results on a memory test called LongMemEval and say other research groups have reproduced those results.
It runs as a server, often with Docker, and works with many AI model providers, including models that run on your own computer. There are add-ons for coding assistants and a hosted cloud version.
Who it's for
Developers building AI agents or assistants that need to remember things across sessions.
