What it does
herdr is for programmers who run several AI coding agents at the same time, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. It splits your terminal (the text-based command window) into panes, one per agent, and keeps them running in the background even if you close the window or lose your connection.
Each pane is marked as working, blocked or idle, so you can see at a glance which agent has stopped and needs an answer. You can manage agents on several machines from one window, and the agents themselves can use herdr to open panes and message each other.
Who it's for
Developers who juggle multiple AI coding agents.
