Home Assistant MCP Server

Lets AI assistants control your Home Assistant smart home using plain language.

New this week

What it does

Home Assistant is a popular free system for running a smart home. This unofficial project connects it to AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT through MCP, a standard way to give AI new tools.

Once set up, you can ask the AI to turn devices on or off, check their status or create and change automations. It can be installed inside Home Assistant through HACS, the community add-on store, and you then paste a connection link into your AI app.

Who it's for

Home Assistant users who want to manage their smart home by chatting with an AI assistant.
