What it does
GraphRAG is a research project from Microsoft. It uses AI language models to read a large set of documents and build a "knowledge graph", a map of the things mentioned and how they connect.
That map helps an AI answer questions that need a wider view of your data, not just a single passage. Its makers say it is a demonstration and not an officially supported Microsoft product.
The README warns that building the map can be expensive, so it is best to start small. It also says the project is largely in maintenance mode: it gets bug fixes and updates but no new features.
Who it's for
Researchers and developers exploring better ways for AI to answer questions about private document collections.
Can I use it without coding?
