Go OpenAI

An unofficial code library that lets programs written in Go use OpenAI's AI services.

New this week

What it does

Go OpenAI is a library for the Go programming language. It gives programmers a ready-made way to talk to the OpenAI API, the doorway that lets programs use OpenAI's models.

It covers text generation, chat, images, speech-to-text, embeddings, file handling, fine-tuning and more. It can also point at other services that copy OpenAI's API, including Azure OpenAI.

The README notes that it is not made by OpenAI.

Who it's for

Go developers adding OpenAI features to their software.

Can I use it without coding?

Developers only. It is a code library you use inside your own Go programs. New to this? Start here.

Can I run it?

Cost
Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
Runs on
Mac, Windows, Linux, Server
Computer
An ordinary computer is fine
Privacy
Sends what you give it to an online service
API key
Needed. An API key is a password-like code from an online AI service. What's that?

Try it
