What it does
GenOffice is a free, open-source office suite for Mac, Windows and Linux. It opens and saves Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and edits PDF, Markdown and web pages.
An AI helper sits next to each document. You ask for a change, and it shows exactly what it edited, with tracked changes and one-click undo. It can also search your files by what they say and answer questions across chosen files, pointing to its sources.
The README says files are opened, edited and converted on your own computer. Only the AI requests leave your machine, going to the provider you choose. You can sign in with Genspark or use your own key from many AI providers, including local servers.
Who it's for
Anyone who works with office documents and wants an AI helper they can check, plus developers who want AI agents to edit Office files.
