FunClip

Transcribes a video, then lets you cut clips by picking sentences or speakers from the transcript.

New this week

What it does

FunClip is a video clipping tool that runs on your own computer. It uses speech-recognition models from Alibaba's Tongyi lab to write out what is said in a video, with timings.

You then choose the text or the speaker you want, and it cuts the matching parts of the video. It also produces subtitle files. An optional AI language model can suggest clips for you.

It is strongest in Chinese and also supports English. It runs as a simple web page on your computer, and there are online demos.

Who it's for

Video editors and creators, especially working with Chinese-language video, who want quick clips and subtitles.
