FreeVideo

Make AI videos from text, images or audio on your own computer, even with a modest graphics card.

Research-backed

What it does

FreeVideo lets you create short videos with AI on your own computer instead of an online service. It runs a video model called MiniMax H3. You can start from a written description, a first and last frame, or image, video and audio references.

Its makers say it can work with as little as 8 GB of graphics card memory and 16 GB of regular memory. It does this by adjusting how it uses your graphics card, memory and disk to fit your hardware. You can pick from four quality levels, preview a video at lower quality first, and edit clips on a timeline.

It runs inside ComfyUI, a popular visual tool for AI image and video work. Launchers for Windows, Mac and Linux set up ComfyUI and download the models for you. It also works with LoRAs (small add-on files that change a model's style) and can be used by AI agents such as Claude Code.

Who it's for

Hobbyists and creators who want to make AI videos at home without paying for an online service. A computer with a graphics card helps.
