What it does
Flower is a framework for federated learning, a way to train an AI model across many phones, computers or organisations. Each one learns from its own data, and only the lessons are shared, not the raw data.
It works with almost any machine learning tool, including PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, scikit-learn and JAX, and has quickstarts for Android and iOS.
Flower began as a research project at the University of Oxford. It comes with step-by-step tutorials and a collection of reproduced research experiments.
Who it's for
AI researchers and developers who need to train models on data that cannot be moved, for privacy or practical reasons.
