What it does
FinGPT is a research project that adapts large language models to finance. Its makers argue that finance changes quickly, so they focus on light, low-cost ways to update models with fresh financial data instead of training huge models from scratch.
The project shares models for tasks such as judging whether financial news sounds positive or negative, plus a forecasting tool and a benchmark for testing models on financial tasks. Several research papers describe the work.
Models are published on Hugging Face, and there is an online demo of the forecaster. This is research software, not financial advice.
Who it's for
Researchers and developers working on AI for finance.
Can I use it without coding?
Developers only. Needs Python and, for local models, a graphics card. An online demo lets you try the forecaster. New to this? Start here.
