What it does
FastAPI is a popular way to build web services in Python. FastAPI-MCP takes the endpoints of such a service and exposes them as MCP tools. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI assistants like Claude or Cursor to use outside tools.
Its makers say it needs little or no setup and keeps your existing documentation and data formats. It can reuse the service's existing authentication, so only allowed users can call the tools.
Who it's for
Python developers who already run a FastAPI service and want AI assistants to use it.
