What it does
Face Recognition is a code library for Python that finds faces in pictures. It can point out where each face is, mark features like eyes, nose, mouth and chin, and compare faces to tell whether two photos show the same person.
It also includes a simple command-line tool for running face recognition on a whole folder of images. Developers can combine it with other tools to recognise faces in live video.
It's built on an existing face-recognition model from the dlib library. Its makers report high accuracy on a standard face-matching test.
Who it's for
Programmers and hobbyists building apps that need to detect or identify faces in images.
