Face Alignment

A Python library that finds key points on faces in photos, such as eyes, nose and mouth.

New this week

What it does

Face Alignment finds facial landmarks: the precise positions of features like the corners of the eyes, the tip of the nose and the outline of the lips. It can give these as flat 2D points or as 3D points.

It first spots the faces in an image, with a choice of face detectors that trade speed for accuracy, and can process a whole folder of pictures at once.

Its makers describe its method as highly accurate. It runs on an ordinary computer, but a graphics card makes it much faster.

Who it's for

Developers and researchers building apps that analyse faces, such as filters, animation or research tools.
