What it does
AI assistants usually forget what you told them once a conversation ends. EverOS is a memory layer that keeps conversations, files and an agent's past work so different AI tools can recall them later.
It saves memories as ordinary, readable text files on your own computer, so you can open and edit them yourself, and keeps a fast search index alongside them. Over time it can merge and tidy memories between sessions.
It runs as a small local service that other apps talk to. The basic setup needs one key from OpenRouter, a service that gives access to many AI models, and the makers list plug-ins for several agent tools.
Who it's for
Developers building AI agents or assistants that need to remember users and past work across sessions and apps.
Can I use it without coding?
Developers only. It is a Python library and local server meant to be wired into other software. New to this? Start here.
Can I run it?
- Cost
- Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
- Runs on
- Mac, Linux
- Computer
- An ordinary computer is fine
- Privacy
- Your choice: run it on your device or use an online service
- API key
- Needed. An API key is a password-like code from an online AI service. What's that?
