What it does
DSHA is an Android app that packages DeepSeek Harness, an AI agent tool its makers compare to Claude Code, so it can run on a phone. The agent normally needs a desktop Linux system. DSHA bundles a full Ubuntu Linux environment inside the app, so you don't need root access, the Termux terminal app, or any typed commands.
After you install the app, it sets up the built-in environment offline and opens a web page where you choose and connect an AI model. The agent can also use the phone itself, if you allow it: it can read the screen, tap and type, send notifications and use sensors. Each of these permissions is off by default and can be turned off again.
The app also includes a built-in terminal, a plugin manager, automatic backups and self-check tools that point out which part broke. Its makers say it sends no usage data, and they list known weak points openly, such as the lack of a full sandbox (a walled-off space) for commands the agent runs.
Who it's for
Android phone owners who want to try a DeepSeek AI agent on their phone without setting up Linux by hand. Some comfort with AI model settings and app permissions helps.
Can I use it without coding?
Yes. You install an APK file and set things up through the app and a web page, with no commands needed. New to this? Start here.
Can I run it?
- Cost
- Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
- Runs on
- Phone
- Computer
- An ordinary computer is fine
- Privacy
- Sends what you give it to an online service
- API key
- Needed. An API key is a password-like code from an online AI service. What's that?
Try it
- Download the Standard APK from the project's GitHub releases page (needs a 64-bit Android 11 or newer phone).
- Install and open it, then wait while it prepares the built-in offline environment.
- When the web interface opens, set up the AI model you want to use.
