What it does
Coopanion is a desktop pet. A little character called Coo walks along the bottom edge of your screen. You can type to it or hold a key and speak, and it answers in speech bubbles. Your speech is turned into text on your own computer.
Coo connects to an AI service of your choice, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or DeepSeek, using an API key (a password-like code from that service). You can also sign in with a ChatGPT account. It remembers what you talk about and keeps notes about you in its own folder.
With your permission, Coo can use your computer: clicking buttons, typing and switching windows. It asks before it acts. It can also set alarms, wear different outfits and colours, add extras like small games, and appear as an overlay for live streaming.
Who it's for
People who want a friendly, animated AI companion on their desktop that they can talk to by voice or text.
Can I use it without coding?
Yes. You download an installer for Windows, macOS or Linux and the pet guides you through setup in its own bubbles. New to this? Start here.
