What it does
CogVideoX is a family of video-generation models. You describe a scene in words, or give it a starting image, and it creates a short video. It can also continue an existing video.
Its makers say the smaller model runs on older graphics cards and the larger one on ordinary desktop graphics cards. They also note that longer, more detailed prompts give better results, and suggest using a chat AI to rewrite short prompts.
The repository includes code for running the models and for fine-tuning them (teaching them a new style with your own clips). The original CogVideo model from 2022 is kept here too.
Who it's for
Researchers, developers and hobbyists who want to make AI video on their own hardware.
Can I use it without coding?
