What it does
cmux is a terminal app for Mac (a terminal is the text window programmers use to run commands). It's built for people who run several AI coding agents, such as Claude Code or Codex, side by side.
Its sidebar shows tabs for each workspace with useful details, and panes light up when an agent needs your attention. A notification panel gathers all the alerts in one place.
It also has a built-in web browser that agents can control, plus support for remote machines and custom shortcuts. It's a native Mac app built on Ghostty, another terminal program, and can use your existing Ghostty settings.
Who it's for
Programmers who run several AI coding agents in parallel on a Mac.
